Monitoring and forecasting of a devastating earthquake in the east of the island of Taiwan

Our team has been monitoring the preparation of a major earthquake in the east of the island of Taiwan for two years. During the web conference, the preparation of this earthquake was discussed with Taiwanese seismologists.

On September 17 and 18, 2022, two earthquakes of magnitude 6.7 and 7.3 occurred in the forecasted zone, respectively, however, these events are harbingers of a stronger earthquake of magnitude 7.8-8.0, which should occur in the coming months.
